these are technologies that make wikis interoperable:

* InterWikiLinks -- link to pages located in other wikis using short wiki names instead of urls
* SisterSites and SisterPages -- a Wiki can be aware the pages at other sites and show existing parallel pages
* NearLinks -- a Wiki can optinonally directly and automatically link to another Wikis pages
* WikiCluster -- a Wiki can include functions to provide RecentChanges, AllPages, TextSearch, SessionDisplay or WikiStatistics for a group of wikis located at the same WikiServer
* WikiNet

-- the connection of multiple WikiServers to form a logical unit for as many functions as possible.
* WikiGateway -- A programming language interface to access wiki pages, suggested standard
* WikiInterchangeFormat -- A XML-format to support engine-independent content exchange, suggested standard
